- The average American spends 2.5 days each year looking for lost items
- Collectively this costs US Households $2.7 billion/year to replace those items
- Household items lost most often in descending order are TV remote, phones, car/house keys, glasses and shoes
- Millennials are twice as likely as Baby Boomers to lose their stuff
- Multitasking is the most cited reason for misplacing items
- More than 60% of people admit they have been late to work or school because of misplaced items
- Almost half of respondents have missed an appointment or meeting altogether as the result of their search for missing valuables
- 63% of respondents blamed someone else for a lost item while 46% confessed that they were the most likely person in their household to lose something
