At Your Fingertips Organizing

Did you know that January is GO Month? GO is an acronym for Get Organized.  And GO Month is a month-long campaign promoted by the NAPO, the National Association of Productivity & Organizing professionals.  GO Month  promotes the benefits of working with an Organizing or Productivity professional.

According to an article in PRnewswire.com last year, here are some statistics about disorganization which I found fascinating and think you might as well:

  • The average American spends 2.5 days each year looking for lost items
  • Collectively this costs US Households $2.7 billion/year to replace those items
  • Household items lost most often in descending order are TV remote, phones, car/house keys, glasses and shoes
  • Millennials are twice as likely as Baby Boomers to lose their stuff
  • Multitasking is the most cited reason for misplacing items
  • More than 60% of people admit they have been late to work or school because of misplaced items
  • Almost half of respondents have missed an appointment or meeting altogether as the result of their search for missing valuables
  • 63% of respondents blamed someone else for a lost item while 46% confessed that they were the most likely person in their household to lose something

Do any of these stats ring true with you?  Do you consider yourself to be unorganized?  If so, take advantage of GO Month, of the New Year and make a resolution to get organized.  Whether you do it on your own or hire a professional, it will be well worth the investment of your time and money.
